ギリギリ(in the nick of time)と英語

タイトルの英単語「in the nick of time」は「ギリギリのところで」といった意味があります。

「nick」は「小さな切れ目」という意味です。「時間の最後の切れ目の時に」ということですね。

「I paid my water bill in the nick of time. 30 minutes later and I would have been charged extra fee. 」みたいな感じですね。
